Putting Passion to Work
Addie's passion is service. Bringing over 25 years of community service to surrounding Houston neighborhoods within Fort Bend County, Addie has devoted her talents to improving her community. Her volunteer work began shortly after arriving to Houston by preparing and delivering meals to families with ill loved ones. Currently, Addie serves as the Fort Bend ISD Board President. With Addie’s assistance, the Fort Bend Independent School District increased the academic ratings for schools that required academic improvement. Additional accomplishments include creation of an Early Literacy Center, offering Early College High School and Pathways in Technology programs, development of universal course selection for all high school students, establishment of special education improvement programs for more inclusion of special needs children, institution of a board leadership academy, and most importantly, driving high academic accountability for all the students in the district.
